Semester Final Exam

1. My website - Behind the Lens
4. Favorite blog post - Assignment #1 Observing Matters of Light
The link above will take you to my favorite blog post, this may appear odd because the majority of the people doing this assignment will post a blog in which they have images. I chose this blog not because it is my best, because it most certainly is not, but because of the value behind it and what was gained from it. I chose this post because it was the very first assignment we were assigned as a class and made me realize the huge role that light plays in the world of photography. If it weren't for this assignment I believe I would still be ignorant as to its role.
5. Favorite photo from semester -
This is by far one of my favorite images because it wasn't planned, we were just shooting and I just so happen to press the shutter release button as she was laughing. I also like this picture because I feel it has the ability to speak for itself and because of the clarity produced by the light that was being given off at the time.

6. Best photos from first semester -

I chose this picture because of the expression and the mood that this image is capable to provoke. The hair sort of works as a frame to emphasis the model's face.

I chose this picture because I chose both the image above and beneath this one, all three work to show the change in the models expressions and create a stronger image.

This image is among my top favorites, I feel like this image speaks for itself and projects the persona of whom I photographed.

First Semester Final Project

I chose this photo because of the contrast among the red of the bandana and her hair that is produced by the lighting which makes the model's face appear lighter and directs the viewer's attention to her eyes.

This image is among my favorite because of the shadow casted upon the drapes by the sunlight and the angle in which the picture was taken. The shadow is able to display the mirror image of the model's hair in detail, as well as the shadow of her lashes upon her face.

The image above caught my attention because of the detail portrayed in the cloth being held above the model's face. The covering of half her face directs the attention to the model's eye and her slowly growing smile.

I chose this image because of the expression on the model's face, the lighting works with the model because it functions in a matter that compliments her features. The loose strands of hair which are dark contrast with her face and make her face appear lighter.

I really liked this image because of the texture portrayed in the model's hair. I took this close up for that same purpose, so as to emphasis all her features and let the light of day do its job.

This image is among my favorites because of the matter in which the pattern of the cloth being held over her lower half of her face mixes with the darkness of her hair. The black/brown color of her hair works to emphasis the cloth and the cloth attracts attention to the model's large glowing eyes.

I chose this image because it appears as if the model is scared and attempting to hide behind the thin see through cloth, I also chose it because of the angle in which the image was taken which makes her face appear flawless.

I chose this picture because of the expression and the mood that this image is capable to provoke. The hair sort of works as a frame to emphasis the model's face.
